Renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk has unveiled his artificial intelligence company, xAI, with a mission to delve into the real essence of the universe. Musk stated that through this endeavor, they aim to comprehend the true nature of the cosmos. Leading the xAI team himself, Musk has recruited officers who have previously worked in prominent AI companies such as Google, Microsoft, and DeepMind.
This announcement by Tesla’s CEO and owner of SpaceX and Twitter is being regarded as a challenge to AI technologies like ChatGPT. Musk tweeted, “Starting a new AI company, xAI, to understand the true nature of the universe.” The company’s website states that Musk and his team will share information regarding xAI with the world through a live Twitter Space chat on Friday, July 14.
Reports suggest that xAI’s team includes employees from well-established companies who have significant experience working on projects like OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 chatbots. Notably, Musk was a co-founder of OpenAI in 2015 but distanced himself from the company in 2018 to avoid conflicts of interest with Tesla.
Controversy surrounds Musk and his Twitter discussions, particularly due to the recent launch of Meta’s new “Threads” platform, which drew opposition from Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook. Musk expressed his discontent with the platform and playfully taunted Zuckerberg, playing with words by saying, “Zuck is a cuck.”
It is worth noting that Elon Musk aims to launch Mars missions through his company SpaceX in the coming years. Hence, the “Threads” thread by Wendy’s, as shown in the Twitter screenshot, can be seen as a satirical comment on Musk’s SpaceX venture. In response to this screenshot circulating on Twitter threads, Elon Musk replied and altered Zuckerberg’s name, writing, “Zuck is a cuck.”
